I am not sure exactly what to say. Jim DeMint is leaving the Senate to take over the Heritage organization. Great for Heritage, and I wish them and him all of the best.
But, I cannot bring myself to put a smiley face on it. DeMint was the Conservative glue in the Senate. He helped elect more Tea Party and ideologically true conservatives than anyone in recent memory. While the likes of Rubio and Cruz are great guys, what is the likelihood that they will be co-opted by the Establishment Royals without the steadying influence of Jim DeMint?

I could not agree more. This is indeed a sad day for the future. DeMint’s departure leaves a vacuum of common sense in the House.
W.C. Says we need to have the faith that Jim didn’t make this move without thinking this thru very well. He is a leader we can depend on and I believe he knows what he is doing. He didn’t take a poll or ask permission. When you shake things up the cream will rise to the top!
